Salsa Rogue tips his hat and directs a shimmy at you.
This is an experiment in bringing together in one place my experiences of the phenomenal world of Salsa. In just over 4 years I have gone from a guy with two left feet and a sense of rhythm, that just about kept up with bleeps from the talking clock, to dancing 5 nights a week all around England and Wales and several countries around the world.
But there is so much more to do. I want to share some of those experiences and, with your help, plan new ones. Also aid the new salsero to avoid the early pitfalls, to encourage dancers to further improve their skills or just increase their joy of Salsa and make the veterans chuckle when a story I tell triggers a memory for them.
So what can you expect from this blog? Well here is a list of some of the subjects I shall be covering in the weeks to come, you may have some suggestions for me all are welcome. In fact responses to this first blog may lead me to choose which subject I should lead with next time....
Do's and Don'ts on the dance floor.
Ratings for Venues, to include lessons, teachers, atmosphere, friendliness, music etc.
Dealing with the salsa lotharios.
Personal thoughts and events in my salsa days
Planning my further travels in the world of the salsero/salsera
and to debate such topics as
Music:- Latin American/Jazz/R&B
Dance Style:- Cuban/Xbody/onthe2
So that's it for now my head is above the parquet and I welcome friendly or otherwise fire. feel free to email me at salsarogue@blueyonder.co.uk you will always receive an answer. Many thanks for stopping by.
